The owner of the building at the southeast corner of 8th and Fitzwater streets plans to rehab the space while trying to secure a tenant for the first floor commercial space.
He sent an e-mail out about a month ago. Here’s the e-mail and the blueprints for the renovation.
Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for joining me in January to discuss the possibility of Nancy Trachtenberg opening a café in my building at the SE corner of 8th and Fitzwater; I appreciate your feedback. As you may already be aware, Nancy has decided not to lease my space. I think she would have been a great addition to our neighborhood, and I’m sad she won’t be opening here. I wish her success in opening her café at the corner of Passyunk & Dickenson. My plans are to proceed with the renovation of my building and lease the first floor to a commercial tenant who will be an asset to our community. My architectural plans are now complete, and I am proceeding with renovation permits.I have a few potential tenants that have expressed interest in the space, but nothing serious at this time. I welcome your suggestions for types of uses or specific users.
I have attached a couple drawings that show my basic intent for the space.
One of the drawings shows the HC ramp as optional, but I believe it will be required.David Krupp
